Morris “Bboy Morris” Isby, III began breakdancing as a high school student in Sacramento, CA., after watching Battle of the Year: 1998 on VHS. The artistry and athleticism he saw in the battles inspired him to begin practicing daily in his parent’s garage.
In 2000, Morris became a member of a local dance crew “Orbit Documents” where he began winning competitions locally. In 2003, he joined “Flexible Flav”, where he earned his first solo win at Octagon: San Jose Edition. In addition to his win, he became a member of the NBA’s Sacramento King’s Breakers team.
In 2005, Flexible Flav traveled to Canada and won their first International Title at Just for Laughs. The crew continued their winning streak in Canada, Portugal (Euro Battle) and France (La Original Festival). While they were back home in the states, “Flexible Flav” secured wins at Floor Wars LA, Cell Space and Unbreakable.
Morris has made many television and movie appearances such as: Step Up 3D (Touchstone Pictures) as a part of the ensemble (“House of Gwai”), Teen Choice Awards, during Sean Kingston’s performance of Fire Burnin’, Disney’s Channel Shake it Up, NBC’s America Got Talent, Screen Gems’ Battle of the Year and on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and more. Morris was named Bboyrankingz, “Bboy of the Year”., and continued winning regionally and internationally.
After some brief time away, Morris was invited to join the “Rock Force Crew” in 2014 and won 13 titles with them. He performed with the “Academy of Villains” at Vibe OC and alongside David Garibaldi; taking part in the halftime show at the NCAA Finals. He returned to Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and was again voted into the Choreography rounds.
Morris was extended an invitation by World of Dance to create an All-Style Competition – Headbangerz Brawl, spanning 8 cities across the U.S. The tour allowed him to create a platform for other dancers of all genres to gain mainstream recognition through competition. With the “Rock Force Crew”, Morris won the R16 North American Qualifier and placed as finalists in Korea. Morris managed to win a total of 9 titles in between touring, mentoring and fulfilling his duties under the clothing sponsorship.
In 2016, Morris continued touring with World of Dance and traveled outside the U.S. to win events in Japan (B1 Saiyo Tag Team: 2 vs. 2), Poland (Warsaw Challenge: 6-on-6) and Canada (Now or Never Crew 14th Anniversary), and nationally, Massive Monkees Day: 3 vs. 3 stateside Seattle. He maintained sponsorship by Illest brand and continued to volunteer his time to teach younger dancers the foundation of the elements of breaking at local studios in Sacramento.
To date, Morris has won more titles and competitions than any other B-boy or B-Girl within the Breaking genre to date. He continues to compete locally, regionally and internationally but has turned his focus to bringing mainstream awareness to Breaking. He regularly mentors others on how to better themselves as dancers and compete on a higher level.
Morris is currently one of the Stage Managers for Game Entertainment at the Sacramento Kings and has remained a member of their Breakers team. Headbangerz Brawl will continue visiting new cities within the U.S. He remained a member of both “Rock Force Crew” and the “Academy of Villains”. Morris has never been one to rest on his laurels, and still finds time to visit his parents and practice in their garage.
