The new SoloStrap Neo was designed with one thing in mind: To be the most comfortable padded single guitar strap you'll ever own! Comes in two widths: The 4.0 model (4" wide) helps ease the weight of heavier instruments such as basses and solid-body guitars, while the 2.5 model (2.5" wide) offers ample cushion for lighter instruments. Both models feature thick anti-fatigue, double-layered neoprene coupled with durable faux leather, with limited stretch to avoid that bothersome "bungee" bouncy effect.

Our quick and easy "Slide Lock" length adjustment system offers the widest length range, from 38" to 48.5", and all the way to 62" for the XL models.

Underrated, turns 10 lb guitars to 8 lb guitars

I know this strap is typically marketed to bassists, but this is an excellent strap for guitarists playing vintage or modern heavyweight guitars. I've gotten into ES-345, ES-355, and Lucille guitars, all of which come with a varitone, and give or take a Bigsby or other trem, can easily turn the guitar to 9.5 to 10+ lb guitars. I've also gotten into late 50s spec Les Pauls and Les Paul Customs whose weight can be all over the scale. On normal padded straps, I still had to swap guitars because after 30 minutes, the strap would dig into my shoulder, trapezius, etc. and cause serious impingement and pain. Other players will tell you to gut the guitar of parts to make it lighter, or swap to something lighter. But I love those sounds. So this strap was on my radar and I finally picked one up. First, get the 4 inch model, and get the separate long tail. If you want brown, don't worry about if genuine or synthetic leather will match, because they'll contrast, but the genuine leather looks to be the same quality as on the stock strap. After adding my strap locks, I can finally playing longer than a half hour with my favorite guitars. When I say it feels like the guitar lost 2 lbs I mean it. My 9.9 lb ES-355 with Bigsby and varitone feels like my 8.3 lb Fender Jaguar when I use this strap. If you've got a heavyweight, Big Bertha, boat anchor, absolute unit, battle axe of a guitar that you just can't or won't let go of for the sound and feel of it, get this strap.

The only cons I have, are the screws for the little leather display cover that covers the actual adjustment pieces, are a little finicky and delicate, so don't over thread them, or you will strip them. If they were longer, and/or maybe magnetic, or snaps or some other attachment style, that could be an improvement. But that's a marginal gripe. Another con, I wish the strap button hole on the tails were just 1-2 mm wider in diameter, again, minor gripe, I managed to get my strap locks on with plenty of elbow grease. Dialing in the size/length you need takes some trial and error, but you can absolutely get the right spot for you, and you can kinda get in between spots if you play with it and are careful.

I think the only guitar that could maybe give this strap a run for it's money is a double neck 12 string EDS-1275 , but I bet the strap still wouldn't budge even for that.

If you've read this far, the strap is worth every penny, if only because now there's no guitar that's too heavy to play, or to keep. It doesn't act like a bungee cord, it's comfortable, it stays comfortable after extended use, and it's well suited for all players of all skill levels, bass or guitar, vintage or modern, young or old, etc.

My first impressions

I’ve purchased a solostrap. My first impression that it is very soft neoprene, and leather material (I’m not sure if it real leather or a vegan version)
To set the length was a pain! You have three pieces of material to bolt together, then you have two pieces of material to clip together (twice) that by the way the hole don’t correspond, and then bolt two pieces together.
However once it’s done, it’s done.

I played for a hour, and I enjoyed that hour a lot more, because this strap was more comfortable, and the balance of my bass was better, it also gave me more confidence in my playing.

Standard in bass straps

Most comfortable, reliable and durable bass strap (XL model) I’ve ever used. Pair it with a solid strap-lock system and you’re good to go! 🤘

This is by far the best strap I have ever purchased…it’s so comfortable and takes the weight off heavier basses! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
