Great concept, except for zipper issues

Bought my bass kapsule duo a few years ago, so it’s probably out of warranty, but finally got to use it on an arena tour in Europe. My basses normally live in a road vault back in the states.

Decided to bring it since we were flying,then moving to Euro busses with trailers.Thought this would be a great solution for my instruments and double as a location for extra clothes,etc. This is why I bought the GruvGear instead of an Enki.The case has held up great and I love the multi functionality of it ! But the zippers continually have come off track because the stitching that holds the teeth to the material, doesn’t hold up. So now they are twisted.

So here I am in Ireland, trying to get the slider to reconnect again with the teeth, because my sewing job didn’t hold and the teeth aren’t interlocking.Praying it holds out for 1 more show and that TSA doesn’t open my case and all the contents scatter to the wind! I know it’s probably not possible but it’s too bad it can’t be outfitted with proper TSA latches, like on SKBs or other cases…just my .02.

Gruv gear is the best!

I bought a Kapsule duo and on the second trip i did bag handlers in Curacao broke it. Obviously i was pissed and they did’t want to assume responsibility. I took it on Gruv gear and left a bad review, not knowing that i had 2 year warranty and that basically it was my own fault in a way(user error). I did’t know you had to take the wheels of during traveling. And even when it was my fault, gruv gear came to the rescue and send me a replacement case. Rachel was really helpful and took care of me. 5 star service!

Love this amazing product, but this one is a warranty replacement. Im a little worried about the toughness of the seams around the main zipper. The first one ripped.

Perfect, except for one small thing

This case got me through a flight from Europe to India, a 3 week long bus tour through south India on the most bumpy roads you can ever imagine and with roadies manhandling every case they carried, and a flight back to Europe. Got room for 2 basses plus all the equipment I could ever need, or in my case one bass and all my stage clothes. 20 kg / 44 lbs fully loaded, the wheels are a life saver and super easy to remove for transport. The only downside was the flimsy zipper handle that contains the back straps, came off after about 2 days. But the zipper still works fine.

One For The Road...

Our Kapsule continues to endure the rigors of traveling back and forth between the U.S. and Japan. Fitting two instruments and all of the cables and accessories necessary for a video production, the Kapsule still looks like new. When traveling by foot, we can transport the capsule easily across the cobblestone streets of Shibuya, Japan all the way to the overhead storage of trains and even in the lower storage area of buses when necessary. The rigid yet smooth exterior seems to slide effortlessly across baggage conveyors with to no visible damage. The detachable wheels are a boon when we need an extra inch of space or when storing on delicate floors. At last we have a case that can serve as both a transport solution but also long term storage with the Boveda humidifier packs. It's an indispensable tool that any serious musician needing to carry more than one instrument at a time, should own.
