Recoil is the official signature strap designed and developed with David Ellefson, renowned bassist and founding member of the Grammy-winning band Megadeth. Based on Gruv Gear's popular SoloStrap Neo, this exclusive new design features unique front and back adjustments for optimal positioning, a phenomenal length range of 37.5" to 63.5", vegan-friendly faux leather + neoprene construction for unmatched comfort, and custom fallout logo metal rivets. The thin strap ends are great for acoustic guitars too, allowing the main padded strap to stay flat and not twisted to get to the strap pins. Ergonomically tested and approved by world-renowned health expert Dr. Randall Kertz.

Now also available in a 2.5" width more suitable for guitars or lighter basses.

Product Failure

After about a month of regular use, I had the strap break and my bass fall off while playing. The two metal posts that allow you to adjust the length and hold the weight, bent down and allowed the strap to separate. Luckily, I caught my bass and did not have it crash off the floor. Looking through the past reviews, this was a known issue as far back as 2021. I contacted Gruv, explained the issue, and sent photos. They offered to replace the strap with the same product, which I explained wouldn't do me any good, since it was still the same flawed product, and I had fixed my current strap with some wire and taping. I did ask for a hoodie for the trouble, and in lieu of a product exchange, but was told that they wouldn't do that. You'd think having your bass fall off would be worth a shirt, but I guess not. And I am surprised to see that this strap is still being sold, with the known flaw. It's really too bad, because I do like the overall design. Enough so that I am still using it, all wired and taped.

comfort, adjustability

This is the best strap I have ever owned. After trying several wide, cushioned straps I could never get the correct feel. Problem solved! The recoil strap has the best shoulder cushioning and hangs perfectly. How many times have you grimaced over having to adjust your strap....taking off the strap lock, weaving it in and out only to find it still not right? Again....PROBLEM SOLVED. This strap is adjustable at BOTH ENDS! no removing strap lock, just a simple procedure. I love this strap,,Thank you Gruv Gear and David Ellefson!

Very comfortable.....

Designed by a metal bassist, NOT for metal bassists

I bought this strap for several reasons; one being that i got a discount for being a Scott’s Bass Lessons, another being that it seemed like a genuinely great product. When I got it, I was excited. It was comfortable, easy to adjust and I could easily see myself playing with it for hours. But with a show coming up, my rehearsals started to get more intense as I started playing the way I would on stage. One day into that kind of playing and the strap fell apart constantly. The tiny buttons that hold the top adjustable strap in just bend and the strap falls right out. I can’t go 2 minutes with the strap falling apart. You would think, being designed by David Ellefson, this strap would hold up for hard playing, but nothing could be further from the truth. Unless you’re the kind of bassist that just stands on stage and maybe nods their head, get something more stationary

Hey Ryker, definitely should not be happening with this strap! Please let us make it right, you can always reach us at customercare@gruvgear.com
