Josh is a 6-string electric bassist, composer, session musician, songwriter and music educator based in Toronto, Canada and travels frequently throughout the United States to perform and teach clinics/workshops.
He has performed with many notable musicians/artists including; Ted Quinlan, Mark Kelso, Nick “Brownman” Ali, Zander Zon, Gary Karr, Alex Tanas of Magic, El Cata, Raghav, Fito Blanko, Luis Orbegoso, Terry Sylvester of the Hollies, God Made Me Funky, Shakura S’Aida, Leah Daniels, Shamakah Ali, Carl Harvey of Messenjah, Wade O. Brown, Ernesto Cervini, and many others.
Josh has also garnered a lot of attention for his solo electric bass compositions and arrangements. His arrangement of Herbie Hancock’s “Chameleon” was ranked as the number 1 bass video of 2015 by the leading online magazine for bass players, No Treble.
His 2014 solo electric bass album Out of the Bassment features 100% solo bass arrangements and compositions without any loops, multitracking or time-based effects other than reverb.
Josh holds a bachelor of music from Humber College and a masters in music composition from York University. He is using both his knowledge of advanced bass techniques and pedagogical methods to create a series of interactive ibooks on bass tapping techniques that will be released in the late fall of 2016.
