Joshua Lozada, a self-taught Christian bassist, was born into a family of musicians and singers where early on he uncovered an appreciation for music and musical performance.
At the tender age of 10, Joshua began playing Latin Percussion and quickly learned the nuances of Salsa music and Latin Jazz. During his school years, Joshua enrolled in the Concert and Jazz bands playing trombone and quickly grew a passion for Jazz music. Soon after graduating high school, he saw the need at his local church for a bass player. Using an old bass that was left at the church, Joshua began to practice along with his favorite records. His attempt to emulate some of the music he had listened to birthed an immense love for the instrument and how it supported the music he so loved to hear. Joshua surrounded himself with great musicians and began learning bass techniques as well as different styles that would propel him into the music scene. In the fall of 2000, Joshua auditioned for New York based salsa band Orquesta Xariz. After getting the position he began traveling with the band throughout the eastern seaboard. Joshua immersed himself in the music and soon began getting calls from some of Christian Salsa's most popular artists such as Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz, Jose "Papo" Rivera and Puchi Colon. In addition to the Salsa scene, Joshua has expanded his musical reach to Pop, R&B, Gospel and Rap Music. Josh has shared the stage with J. Holiday, Force MD's, Jeff Redd, Mel'isa Morgan and Christopher Williams. Spanish Christian Pop artists include: Julissa, Eric Lopez, Coro Tabernaculo Cristiano, Juan Carlos Alvarado, Rene Gonzalez, Ricardo Rodriguez, Danny Berrios, Sounds of Praise and TruDestiny.
Josh has also worked with Spanish Worship artists, Ingrid Rosario, Christine D'Clario and Gospel/Worship Artist, Freddy Rodriguez.
Faith plays is major part in Josh's life and he owes any perceived success to God's grace, mercy and favor over his life.
