Ted "Blyss" Gould is a versatile and seasoned bassist whose musical journey began in the world-famous Tremé neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Since relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, Blyss has made a name for himself as a soulful, groove-oriented team player who is equally comfortable in the studio, on the stage or in the orchestra pit. Blyss has performed and recorded with national recording and touring acts such as R&B singer Jon B, Vh1 Soul artist Nya Jade, Urban Punk (featuring Black Eyed Peas protege H20 and American Idol finalist LaToya London), as well as countless local artists and ensembles.
Blyss is a graduate of California State University, East Bay, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a focus on classical double bass. In addition to being an in-demand theater musician Blyss plays various freelance gigs in and around the Bay Area and with the 6:13 Band and Orchestra at Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley, CA and Bridges Community Church in Los Altos, CA. He also works closely with two non-profit organizations that provide music education to elementary school students in Foster City and Redwood City, CA.
