Josh Ham has been playing bass since 12, but has been surrounded by music all his life. He was raised in a very musical house; his mum is a classical pianist, his dad a jazz saxophonist, older brother a metal guitarist, younger brother a hip hop dancer.. and Josh has been influenced by all this and more.
He started gigging in the Melbourne scene when he was 16, and was touring the world at 21. He has played with varying groups of all styles, including soul, reggae, hardcore/prog, electronic, folk, alternative, just to name a few.
He is now the bass player for Planetshakers, and continues to tour the world with them. Planetshakers releases one album a year, as well as additional EPs and singles, and is currently reaching over 150 nations worldwide. Josh is also the music producer for Planetboom, Planetshakers church’s youth band, as well as an esteemed DJ.
Josh has performed live for millions, sometimes hundreds of thousands at a time, but is much more passionate about performing for an audience of One. To quote Jurassic 5, “if you ain’t giving God the praise then it’s useless”.
