Cho Won-sang is a bassist, songwriter and producer born in Seoul, South Korea.
Cho Won-sang, who first encountered bass at the age of 15 at his father’s suggestion, studied bass for more than a decade and experienced various sessions and stages in various music.
He enjoys playing a six-string bass to enable a variety of performances and his performances were heavily influenced by bassists Gustavo Dal Farra, Marcus Miller, John Myung, Michael Pipoquinha and Michael League.
In 2019, he appeared on the Korean band survival program ‘Super Band’ and showed his ability in arrangements and stages highly praised by Coldplay, and whenever he covered the music of overseas artists (Tennyson, Fickle Friends) on the stage, the original artists praised him and his performance. In the program, Cho Won-sang led the team to second place, showing a variety of styles of self-composed songs and attractive bass skills as well as his arrangement skills.
As a member of the team LUCY, formed by the Super Band, he began his career with the release of the team’s first single album ‘DEAR', on May 8, 2020. Since then, he has consistently released many works, including PANORAMA, SNOOZE, INSIDE and Gatcha!, producing all albums, playing bass, and presenting complete music.
The bassist Cho Won-sang, who combines stable playing skills and spectacular performances, is attract-ing a lot of attention not only from Korea but also from various overseas fans.
조원상은 대한민국 서울에서 태어난 베이시스트, 작곡가, 프로듀서이다.
아버지의 권유로 15세 때 베이스를 처음 접한 조원상은 10여 년간 베이스를 공부하며 다양한 음악에서 다양한 세션과 무대를 경험했다.
그는 다양한 연주가 가능하도록 6현 베이스 연주를 즐기며 베이스 연주자 구스타보 달 파라, 마커스 밀러, 존 명, 마이클 피포퀴냐, 마이클 리그 등의 영향을 많이 받았다.
2019년 한국 밴드 서바이벌 프로그램 '슈퍼밴드'에 출연해 Coldplay가 극찬하는 편곡과 무대에서 실력을 보여줬고, 무대에서 해외 아티스트(테니슨, 픽클프렌즈)의 음악을 커버할 때마다 오리지널 아티스트들이 그와 그의 무대를 칭찬했다. 이 프로그램에서 조원상은 다양한 스타일의 자작곡과 매력적인 베이스 실력과 편곡 실력을 보여주며 팀을 2위로 이끌었다.
슈퍼밴드가 결성한 팀 'LUCY'의 일원으로서, 그는 2020년 5월 8일 팀의 첫 싱글 앨범 'DEAR.'를 발표하면서 활동을 시작했다. 그 이후 그는 꾸준히 <파노라마>, <스누즈>, <인사이드>, <개차!> 등 많은 작품을 발표하며 모든 앨범을 제작하고 베이스를 연주하며 완전한 음악을 선보였다.
안정적인 연주 실력과 화려한 연주가 어우러진 베이시스트 조원상이 국내는 물론 다양한 해외 팬들로부터 많은 관심을 받고 있다.
