Luiyi Black Side
Luis Alberto Alturria Somer (born on June 7, 1983), is an Argentine rock musician, multi-instrumentalist, guitarist, composer, director, and producer. He is better known as Luiyi Black Side, founder of the heavy metal band BLACK SIDE.
Childhood and youth
The only son of a middle-class family, he was linked to music from a very young age since he was a musician in the Pentecostal evangelical church where his parents used to go. In that place, he learned to take his first steps as a musician. His parents began sending him to study music at conservatories at an early age (7 years old).
Musical Formation
In Buenos Aires, he began studying with private music teachers and then entered the conservatory Alberto Ginastera (Moron, Buenos Aires – Argentina), where he took his first steps in his studies, then finished his studies at the Thibaud Piazzini conservatory (where he studied the renowned Charly García). Then I studied several years at the ITMC (Instituto Tecnológico de Música Contemporánea) where he was developing as a musician and producer, in 2001 he traveled to the United States to finish his studies at Berklee College of Music, developing his career as a musician and music producer.
Black Side
It is his musical project where he summons musicians on his albums and is known throughout the Americas. In previous Black Side albums, they recorded famous musicians, which generated new proposals for future albums, that album was produced like all the previous records of the band.
Take Me Away album
Take Me Away is the latest from Black Side and was recorded in the studio La Nave de Oseberg between 2013 and 2014. The recording of this album took more than 1 year of work, and was recorded in several parts given the busy schedule of the musicians invited, the release of the album was in the program Tiempos Violentos conducted by Cesar Fuentes on Radio Rock N Pop The musicians who recorded all the tracks on this album were: Fernando Scarcella and Adrian Barilari from the group Rata Blanca, Javier Barrozo and Pablo Moticzak of the group Walter Giardino Temple Joe Lynn Turner, Luiyi and Adrian Bordon (originating from black side). The artistic production was under the command of Luiyi, the sound engineer was Martin Toledo, together with a whole team of first level work, mixing and mastering were done in Buenos Aires. Take Me Away is a Heavy Metal album, but with a great variety of sub-genres included, which allows the audience to listen to the album and find it entertaining, Black Side in this opportunity records the album in English for artistic preference and 1 song in Castilian included in it by the hand of Mr. Adrian Barilari, 4 to reinforce the musical variety that is sought in this work of 10 tracks. The photos of the album by Ignacio Cangelo. The Disco Take Me Away was published in Mexico City, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, and the United States.
HARD ROCK CAFE DVD SHOW IN 2017
The renowned company Hard Rock Cafe called Luiyi to make a DVD in the cell of Buenos Aires, editing it and available in all the digital stores, under the name of “All that classic songs”, covering great hits classics of rock.
Mexico City/United States Tour 2016
The guitarist gave a series of Institutional Clinics about Ernie Ball,5 Morley Pedals6 very successful in Mexico City where he was recognized by the music school Guitar Symphony7 and the Atonal Academy where so many international artists passed, after this he embarked to the United States where he was summoned by the Chinese company Joyo Technology Co., Ltd8 and the American company Kirlin Cables9 to perform demonstrations at the fair THE NAMM SHOW which takes place every year in the city of Anaheim, California. Luiyi finishes his tour in the city of Las Vegas Nevada playing in Vampd Vegas with the musicians of the local band Count’s 77 and the singer Tommy Paris10 of the glam rock band Britny Fox .1.
Bolivian Tour 2016 with Joe Lynn Turner
Luiyi is summoned to share part of South American tour with the singer’s Joe Lynn Turner11 (Deep Purple – Rainbow y actual Sunstorm (band)) touring the cities of Cochabamba and La Paz playing solo songs of his career with Black Side and classic hard rock world songs, in that country he made a live presentation accompanied by an interview for the TV channel Aire Red ATB12 where it was broadcast live for all of Bolivia.
