SoloStrap 2 Neo takes everything players loved about our original Neo strap and makes it even easier to adjust and have an extended length range! Designed for guitarists and bassists who want the most comfortable padded single guitar strap in the market!

The resilient double-layered neoprene padding is wrapped in a durable faux leather top with a soft anti-slip backing, giving you long-lasting comfort and a clean aesthetic. Thick cushioning helps fight shoulder fatigue even on heavier instruments, while the controlled stretch avoids the distracting “bungee” effect common with other neoprene straps.

At the heart of the SoloStrap 2 Neo is our new quick-adjust prong system, making length changes fast, secure, and tool-free. Every SoloStrap 2 Neo is now equipped with an extra long tail which allows adjustment between 38” to 62" —giving you more flexibility than ever before.

Available in 2.5” and 4.0” widths, choose the SoloStrap 2 Neo that's best for your needs:

  • 2.5” — sleek and versatile for lighter instruments
  • 4.0” — wider support for basses and solid-body guitars

With its stealthy all-black finish, unmatched comfort, and effortless adjustability, the SoloStrap 2 Neo is where modern design meets ultimate performance.

Amazing strap but some quality control issues

It’s a very comfortable strap. I have shoulder issues and have lots of pain with other straps the solo is very comfortable and reduces much of it. Only complaint is the pick holders are glued shut and I can’t get a pick into them. So I’ve tried to get them open but no luck.

Hi Josh,

We are sorry to hear about this issue! Please email photos and a video of this problem to care@gruvgear.com and our team will assist you!

Great strap...

Very comfortable, easily adjustable, great quality. It's the only strap I use for all my guitars and especially my basses. My only complaint is, if you're a big guy such as myself (6' 2" 275lbs), these straps are very short, so I had to buy an extension. I wish Gruv Gear offered these straps with the option of having the extension piece instead of having to purchase separately. Otherwise, this is a great strap.

Hi Reuben,

Thank you for sharing your honest review 🙌 We have heard from multiple customers like yourself asking for the extension after purchase. Due to the high demand of inquiries we are now making the standard strap size the XL! Thank you for sharing your feedback as it helps us create better customer experiences in the future.

Made my bass feel light as a feather.

I ordered this strap on the recommendation of a participant on the 60+ Bass Players page on Facebook. The gentleman said that he had spent about $250 ordering and searching for the most comfortable strap for his bass and this one was by far the most comfortable he had found. Once it arrived and I had the opportunity to try it out on my EBMM Bongo 5, I have to agree that it is extremely comfortable and somehow makes my bass feel lighter. Thanks GruvGear!

Strap Love.

I love my solo straps. This is my second solo strap. I have two bases that are heavy and they handle the weight very well. They are very comfortable and I’m glad I have them.

Underrated, turns 10 lb guitars to 8 lb guitars

I know this strap is typically marketed to bassists, but this is an excellent strap for guitarists playing vintage or modern heavyweight guitars. I've gotten into ES-345, ES-355, and Lucille guitars, all of which come with a varitone, and give or take a Bigsby or other trem, can easily turn the guitar to 9.5 to 10+ lb guitars. I've also gotten into late 50s spec Les Pauls and Les Paul Customs whose weight can be all over the scale. On normal padded straps, I still had to swap guitars because after 30 minutes, the strap would dig into my shoulder, trapezius, etc. and cause serious impingement and pain. Other players will tell you to gut the guitar of parts to make it lighter, or swap to something lighter. But I love those sounds. So this strap was on my radar and I finally picked one up. First, get the 4 inch model, and get the separate long tail. If you want brown, don't worry about if genuine or synthetic leather will match, because they'll contrast, but the genuine leather looks to be the same quality as on the stock strap. After adding my strap locks, I can finally playing longer than a half hour with my favorite guitars. When I say it feels like the guitar lost 2 lbs I mean it. My 9.9 lb ES-355 with Bigsby and varitone feels like my 8.3 lb Fender Jaguar when I use this strap. If you've got a heavyweight, Big Bertha, boat anchor, absolute unit, battle axe of a guitar that you just can't or won't let go of for the sound and feel of it, get this strap.

The only cons I have, are the screws for the little leather display cover that covers the actual adjustment pieces, are a little finicky and delicate, so don't over thread them, or you will strip them. If they were longer, and/or maybe magnetic, or snaps or some other attachment style, that could be an improvement. But that's a marginal gripe. Another con, I wish the strap button hole on the tails were just 1-2 mm wider in diameter, again, minor gripe, I managed to get my strap locks on with plenty of elbow grease. Dialing in the size/length you need takes some trial and error, but you can absolutely get the right spot for you, and you can kinda get in between spots if you play with it and are careful.

I think the only guitar that could maybe give this strap a run for it's money is a double neck 12 string EDS-1275 , but I bet the strap still wouldn't budge even for that.

If you've read this far, the strap is worth every penny, if only because now there's no guitar that's too heavy to play, or to keep. It doesn't act like a bungee cord, it's comfortable, it stays comfortable after extended use, and it's well suited for all players of all skill levels, bass or guitar, vintage or modern, young or old, etc.
