Nice problem solver but black dye stains shirts

First, love the strap system. Works for me and is super helpful for playing long gigs with my 11lb Fodera. However, straps sitting close to neck artery, the width of the leather can be constricting to my neck at times. Also, the black dye comes off on my light colored shirts and neck ties. So, I tried the less expensive Neo version… much better! No dye issues and the straps are thinner so no neck constriction. Also, I like the give of those straps better than the leather. Great system and I’m probably going to be a forever user but I wouldn’t recommend this leather version. By the way, I loved this leather version, but it was after many gigs and ruined ties and shirts, and realizing the discomfort as the straps sometimes closed in on either side of my neck did I venture to try the neo version. Neo is a fraction of the cost and better on the levels just shared. I also found it helpful to buy the extended strap. Shame you can’t choose a longer version like the John Patitucci straps (which I was a long time fan of until this). The strap it comes with is super short. There’s a learning curve to getting the right balance but I have mine dialed in just right for me.

Hey James,

Thank you for the reply! We will send this to our production team for imporvments! Thank you for letting us know.

Thanks!

Rides too high at full length

I really like the design and the feel of the DuoStrap Neo but 44 inches is too short for a taller player. I'm surprised this strap is so short but really can't use it at this length.

Hey Jerry, we just left you an email through customer care informing you that we have extension straps available for purchase if you need some extra length with your DuoStrap Neo Click on the link in the email for more information!

Duostrap

Thanks for the Duostrap Jay! It has saved my back and shoulders MANY TIMES since Christmas 2012! GRUV GEAR ftw!

Good quality, poor design

I had high hopes for this strap, but found it horribly uncomfortable. I was not able to get even pressure on both shoulders, even with the optional tensioner strap. To make matters worse, the loop on the Duo strap to the tensioner pressed into my diaphram causing more discomfort. Also limited my right arm movement and kept the guitar pinned in one position, so I couldn't move the guitar around at all, thus increasing arm fatigue. The plastic strap safety locks were also brutal to install. One of them broke and I stabbed my hand pretty good trying to lock the other one in. I will say I like the main strap a lot. It is comfortable and well made and I didn't have to modify it like most straps to get to my high play position. Unfortunately Gruv Gear will only refund for the tensioner portion as I want to keep the main and return tensioner and Duo portion. This basically makes it the basic strap they sell as a stand alone. I would return the whole thing but I had to install my strap locks so as not to risk dropping a 5k guitar. The strap locks stretch and twist the leather so not likely I would get a refund. Basically I paid 160$ for a 100$ strap. And let's not mention unpaid return shipping and a BS restock fee. You don't sell unique products by mail like this, and demand a restock fee. As you can imagine I am kinda pissed and won't be doing business with Gruv Gear in the future.
